Mike, while Michael works on this issue you can search your entire drive C:
including hidden and system folders to see if you have a MFC71.DLL anywhere
on the disk.
If you find one or more you can copy one into C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 or
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 depending on whether XP was installed in the WINNT or
WINDOWS folder.
If MFC71.LL can't be found you can download it here. Extract it to
..\System32
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mfc71
This may get you passed the warning message and get Nova up and running.
I can confirm Michael's comment that Nova doesn't need this file to start up
as I have delete the dozen or so occurrences of it on my installations of
XPPro SP2, rebooted and ran Nova okay... although my Nova was a previous
working version prior to the deletions and not a new install done with
MFC71.DLL missing. It is a fairly common Microsoft DLL on may systems -
Nero the CD burning software installs it in it's own folders as does VMware.
Hope this helps you move forward while awaiting Michael's' findings.

Mike -
You're the 2nd person to report a problem with MFC71.DLL. I don't know why
Nova would need this DLL because Nova doesn't use Microsoft Foundation Class
code. I will try to figure it out in the next few days.
