James,
This is an area the NOVA needs help. NOVA uses
the offical LONG name for SATs. But you can
change/edit the names, so you must find the SAT of
interest and edit the name to what you desire or to
the common HAM short names, i.e. AO-27, AO-51, S0-50,
ISS, VO-52, etc. Then make sure once you edit the SATs
- you set the "Retian SAT names" or when you download
the next Keps it will set them all back to the long
names.
To effectively use the the Frequency Display function
you want to download from the User Group the
Voice-FSAT.zip file and insert the files into:
C:\Program Files\Northern Lights Software
Associates\Nova for Windows\Frequencies , or edit
every SAT you setup to observe. Oh NOVA does not allow
slaving fo the FREQ Display to the Map SAT selected -
you must manually select the SAT to display the freq.
On the NOVA User Group site you can download a handy
file called "SAT-Voice.pdf" this is a listing of all
the need to know info on HAM Voice SATs (including the
USAF SAT ID number). These files to be added into:
C:\Program Files\Northern Lights Software
Associates\Nova for Windows\Sounds\Satellites
Another item you may want from the User Group is
pre-made SAT.wav files for use in the SAT announcing
feature of NOVA. NOVA does not include these .wav
files in it's download.
Also another handy item that I do is to back-up all my
configuraiton files into a totally seperate folder.
This way if you ever need to clear NOVA or you upload
a new version you will not loose your special personal
configurations/data.

As Peter states you need to registered with
www.space-track.org to download updated Keps.
